I am from Peru and I only have 7 channels of Spanish are bad and boring.

Here in America we have hundreds of channels with cable or satellite tv. There's less

In Indonesia during 90's era, there were already 6 channels on regular TV. Now there are about two times of that.

I have always had a bewildering number of TV channels in my hotel rooms during my travels in Latin America, so the Peruvian list given by phonology must be the public and free channels which are available in that country. The other channels in my hotel rooms must have come by cable or satellite. Actually the Danish hotels were a disgrace in this respect for a long time, because they mostly only offered 2-4 or 5 channels - those that could be taken down from an ordinary antenna. The situation has changed slightly during the last few years, probably because people who have travelled abroad found it weird to come home to such a rotten selection of channels in a supposedly civilized country. And because the analogue senders have become digital so the old antennas had to be scrapped.
Apart from that we have one national company (Danmarks Radio) with several channels, one national company (TV2), also with a number of channels, plus some channels that send in Danish (in between all their programs in English), but formally are based in England because the rules on advertising are more lax there. All in all - and counting local channels under one of the countrywide programs - we must have at least twenty channels available here. But cable providers may choose to exlude some of these, just as they may make it impossible to avoid some of the disgusting junk channels because they sell their offers in packages. Luckily I have a provider that lets me off the hook for at least some of the rubbish (including most of the children's and sports channels). However with a satellite you can see hundreds of foreign channels, and at least my cable provider offers a decent, though not sufficient selection of channels in other languages. Ha, that brings back sweet memories from my childhood. When I was a child those channels were the promised land for us Colombians, as they were immeasurably superior to what we had. I remember a kid from my neighborhood managed to tune into Frecuencia Latina by attaching a frying pan to the TV's antenna, and we were all awed both by him and the channel's programming, though we could see little more than interference. Later on informal (and illegal) makeshift cable companies known as "parabólicas" sprung up everywhere, and again the mainstay of their offering was Peruvian channels. I don't watch TV anymore and haven't done so in a very long time, however it's likely your media is still better than ours, prostrated as it is before the narco-socialist regime of Juan Manuel Santos.
