I've dabbled in Russian for almost a year now, but never attempted really to use it, though it looks closer to English than say, Korean, or Chinese, and I was uncertain as to how to begin using the characters in conversation online with the latter two. I've done a few simple things with both, but I wanted to try something a bit more complex just to see if I actually understand how to use the characters. Is it just as simple as, going with what you think you're saying, and hoping the receiving person will understand? That's what I did with French at first. Should I wait until I am more comfortable with the characters before initiating a real conversation?
