Are there any summer immersion progams for minors where one can go to Iran for the summer or some time during the year?

I also had this idea in my adventurous head lately.
Does anyone have any personal experience?

A couple of my friends did a Farsi "immersion" with the army in Afghanistan. Don't know about Iran though. And like what Leo said, stay safe.

The US will attack Iran soon, so it is advisable if you don't go. My country is making it hard for westerners everywhere to other countries.

Iran hasn't been a safe destination for westerners since the 70s when the Shah fell. Don't be so ignorant...

BelgoHead, despite concerns of some that Iran may be unsafe, I've had friends who've traveled there and found an amazingly hospitable country, with people very interested in meeting and talking with foreigners. So I would encourage you to consider it if you have the interest. There was a very interesting documentary done by the BBC a year or so ago, entitled "Inside Iran", which you can watch on-line; it gives a fascinating feel for the atmospherics of the country, and helps to counteract the paranoia and hostility of people like a certain US President and, unfortunately, even some on this forum. You can see the first section at

The other sections should be a available there as well.
Lloyd-Kirk, please stop insulting other members of the forum.
