I was just wondering if any of the native Korean speakers on these forums could give me a quick evaluation of this guys korean. The real "interview" starts at about 2.5 minutes into the video.
American speaking Korean

His Korean is at near-native level. He's got an almost Seoul accent, although I can point out a number of occassions when he speaks in a stilted manner found in the audio tapes. He mixes up tenses sometimes, but that's a mistake that even Koreans make. Very impressive overall.

Jiwon, thank you for the response. I think John Frankl (the guy in the video) is/was a graduate student in the United States focusing on Korean studies, which, to some degree, explains why he has such high-level Korean.

Wow! This vid is really inspiring!
The first that comes into my mind is - if white American can pick up Korean at almost native level, then anyone can acquire whatever language he/she wants.
Really impressive!

Yeah, that's my dream as well... It's seeing people like this that do inspire me when I feel like Korean is an endless road.
I enjoy watching '미녀들의 수다' for the same reasons.
