Since ThaiPod101 has already been mentioned in another thread and JapanesePod101 is a well known ressource for Japanese learners, I thought it might be nice to have all links to Innovative Language Learning's podcasts available in one place.

Yes! It feels like I've been waiting forever for a good Cantonese podcast.
So far they only seem to have beginners and advanced audio podcasts but I'm eagerly looking forward to the intermediate lessons.
Also very happy to see the dialoges written out in Cantonese characters and jyutping :D

CantoneseClass101 is not planning any intermediate lessons for the first season, they've said (that is, not until a bit into 2011). This feels silly to me, since a large percentage of Cantonese learners already know Mandarin, allowing them to skip the absolute beginner stage and get straight into intermediate. I find the pod promising (I love this methodology), but I'm not signing up until there are lessons on my level (whether I'll get to the advanced level before they start releasing intermediate lessons is for the future to decide).
I find the following quote from their About page a bit funny, considering the amount of pods started by the company:
Quote:
We focus on Cantonese, and Cantonese only…
Just Cantonese! All we do is Cantonese. CantoneseClass101.com is not a generic package language learning course, such as some of the other big name language learning programs out there. Many other programs “scale” their solutions across several languages, simply recycling the same material over and over - the same pictures, the same conversations, just in a different language. But each language is unique, and at CantoneseClass101.com we pride ourselves on developing a system that’s only about the Cantonese language and Cantonese culture! |
