do you want to learn Spanish? Well, this blog has just begun but I hope it'll help you a bit: http://spanishiseasy.blogspot.com/ I'll try to make new entries every now and again. I'm currently learning English so maybe, you'll find some spelling mistakes in my entries. If so, please tell me. I want this blog to be as a kind of language exchange. I hope you like it. I don't understand that either! xD Well, I use Firefox. I checked if it worked using Internet Explorer and Chrome and it did work! So I don't know, maybe it's not readable in Linux. We're probably not supposed to encourage people promoting theoir own blogs, but that looks to me like a very promising site. Although there are quite a lot of English mistakes, it's still very well written. Are you a professional language teacher by any chance?
The red leaves are OK, but I don't like that orange brown font you use for some sub-headings. And one urgent correction required. The abbreviation for "for example" is "e.g." and not "ex.". Most people (well me anyway) would think that meant "except", exactly the opposite of what you intended. I have bookmarked it to look at when I get round to finishing the audio courses I plan to get round to sooner or later after some other things that I plan to do. If all goes well. Hi shoenewaelder. No, I'm not a language teacher xD I'm just learning English and well, I think this blog will help me to improve my English very much. In like manner, I want to help people who wants to learn a bit of Spanish, that's the reason why I conceive my blog as a kind of language exchange. Thank you very much for your correction. In Spanish, the abbreviation we use for "por ejemplo" is ej. and I made the same thing with English, typical mistake. The colours of the blog are provisional, I promise I'll delete those red leaves and brown fonts xD I'm glad you like it but I'm still alone so I think the blog will grow slowly in the beginning, 2 or 3 entries each week at best. I'm using Firefox on Linux and it looks fine to me, no problems with the background. I agree with schoenewaelder about the headings though; the yellowy-brown heading "GREETINGS" for example is hard to read against the white background.
The blog looks very comprehensive, you covered a lot of useful stuff in the basics lesson. My problem with a lot of language blogs is that they just don't seem to cover a lot of ground, but yours doesn't seem to suffer from that problem. I'll definitely keep it in mind for whenever I actually start to learn Spanish! 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

well, as you liked that one so much, here's another one: "I did the same thing with/in* English" I don't know if there are any helpful rules governing the usage of "do" and "make" but foreign learners often seem to erroneously use "make" when the should use "do" and very rarely (or practically never) use "do" instead of "make", so my only advice would be to always ask yourself first if "do" would possibly fit. *I suppose "with" is either grammatically or semantically slightly incorrect, but I would happily use it myself, and it would be acceptable at practically all registers because to try to be more correct would start to sound clunky or convoluted or pretentious or redundant ("I did the same thing with the the equivalent word in English", or something). Sorry about rabbitting on so much about a fairly minor error. Correcting things isn't as easy as you first think.
