Hi all,
Last year I listened to the Notes in Spanish intermediate and advanced podcasts over
and over again to learn Spanish - I really loved them! Some Spanish learners might be
aware of the strength of this resource.
Now it's time to learn Italian and I really can't seem to locate a similar resource.
Can anyone recommend something similar to Notes in Spanish for working on my listening
fluency in Italian? Unfortunately there is no Notes in Italian! The thing I really
loved about this resource was the minimal English used throughout and the basic
constructions and vocabulary that were used. It was really well done.
So, what are your recommendations for intermediate Italian podcasts?

How about listening to SRS Radio? It's an Australian radio channel that broadcasts news in a wide range of languages. I especially enjoy their Japanese and Italian programmes. :)

You don’t mention whether you’re only looking for free resources (and unfortunately the most interesting ones are not usually free, or not completely), but you might want to have a look also at these podcasts:
Incontro Italiano (online magazine with audio -- only marginally free)
Italian on the Go (podcast magazine about art, music, food, and business with excercises -- audio is free)
LearnItalianPod (podcast with transcript and exercises at various levels -- audio is free)
Learn Italian Online (discontinued podcast with pdf -- free)
L’italiano in famiglia (20 video episodes called ‘podcast’, plus pdf textbook and workbook -- free)
I don’t know whether any of these are what you are looking for, but I hope you’ll find something interesting.

Wow, Emme, Those are exactly the kinds of resources that I was looking for. L'italiano in
famiglia and Incontro Italiano look particularly good.
Thank you so much.

Check out the LingQ Italian podcasts at Italianlingq.com. You can find those and more at lingq.com, where you can also find transcripts.
