Thanks for the resources, Hendrek!
It's great to see 3 people from HTLAL take part in the 6 week challenge with Persian. I'm wondering who _viniciusgm is - are you on our team as well?

Thanks, Jappy. As I'm focusing more on writing Arabic than speaking, should I change the entry to Arabic (Written), maybe? Simply, after Sarah finishes this university year, all contact with the language will be via e-mails and FB... |

If you're focusing on writing, then it most likely is Modern Standard Arabic, so Arabic (Written) would be a good choice. However, there's nothing wrong with mixing some dialect into your studies, so there's no need to replace Yemeni Arabic with it.

I just registered for Persian on the 6 week challenge. I did it for Italian last year
and it really pushed me into a lot of improvement, so hopefully it'll do the same here.

What does level 1 mean on GLOSS?
Also, I'd like some input on my log, as today I've taken a big step and wrote my first complete sentence in Arabic...

Zireael,
the levels on GLOSS refer to the DLPT (Defense Language Proficiency Test) levels. Level
1 is considered "low intermediate". Probably most akin to the A2 level, though a direct
comparison is difficult to make.

So,
I did some more of my usual internet snooping for resources. Here's a great one!
A compilation of materials, printed and online, for dozens of languages, hosted by
UCLA:
here
One particular Persian pearl found there:
UT Austin Persian Catch Up
Enjoy perusing!
