Hi everybody, I have made a video of my Mandarin speaking ability after more than 6
years of study. I started learning the language in October 2006, I have a degree in
Chinese and have visited China many times. I currently live in Beijing.
The video is on my youtube channel (gaoyoude1):

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. I do consider myself fluent in the sense that
I can speak on most topics without 'interrupting the flow'. There will be small
mistakes in the video with vocabulary or tones, I still use and study Chinese actively.
If you are interested in some of my experiences or techniques, you are also welcome to
visit my blog listed as my homepage.
Chris

Your videos are very good, and your Chinese is very impressing, especially for a study time of only six years (which is indeed not so much for exotic languages like Chinese). As an anecdote, it is in part because of your videos that a few weeks ago I felt a longing to learn Chinese myself, a longing yet coming upon me with such suddenness and passion as to resemble a seizure, almost a hallucination (which is probably due to the fact that I had been an admirer of the Chinese culture since my childhood). Obviously, the desire was rather short-lived, and a few days later I had dropped all plans to precipitate myself into the monstrous difficulties of learning Chinese.

Wow, I am very impressed. Your accent and vocabulary usage are truly spectacular.
Especially your accent, I can easily mistake you for a native speaker, haha. Thanks for
being such a great inspiration to us learners!
