This University of Texas at Austin "Foreign Language Teaching Methods" site appears to have a very comprehensive and very applied approach to language teaching and learning. So far, I have only looked at the Listening section. It looks very good. The site is mainly focused on the teacher, but the methods seem to be very applicable and usable for self-learners.

I just recently switched my major to Linguistics and a minor in TESOL. This is a very
helpful resource for me, as I plan to teach English in Brazil after college.
