I quite enjoyed Germanpod for a while, but when I started learning French, I quit using Frenchpod after about 12 episodes. I found that there was too much banter in the lessons, and the dialogue for each lesson was far too short. I would have preferred something closer to Assimil length dialogues.

I was involved in most but not all GermanPod101 series, creating more than 500 lessons
for them. A lot of these were at the beginner level, repeating grammar and some vocabulary that was taught before, but I tried to at least vary the story in order to cater to different audiences: tourists, people coming to live in Germany, business travelers and language school students. With the present model of series it is difficult to figure out which series is based on which, and in many Pod101 sites the series are not actually based on each other (sometimes not even the lessons are). Allowing students to graduate from one level to the next was not a priority for the company, but I created some such series anyway, in as much was possible since I didn't have any control over the release schedule. This is one of the paths you can follow if you study the lessons intensively rather than extensively: Absolute Beginner 1 (starts at zero) Upper Beginner 1 Intermediate Season 4 After that, you might try Intermediate Season 3 and then Upper Intermediate Season 1 for example - these are not directly based on the above, but based on each other and they introduce a different range of topics and vocabulary, so that there should not be too much repetition. In terms of difficulty of vocabulary, Intermediate Season 1 (learn German through songs) is essentially an Upper Intermediate series, but we didn't have that classification available at the time. If you study extensively, just listening to the lessons while doing something else for example, you can study any lesson of a certain level, independent of series. There will be repetition, especially when it comes to grammar, but repetition is good for that kind of study. I was also involved in the creation of the GreekPod101 Absolute Beginner 1 and Upper Beginner 1, in the creation of the DutchPod101 Absolute Beginner 1 and (still to be released) Upper Beginner 1, as well as in the ArabicPod101 Absolute Beginner 1 (MSA). Obviously I didn't write the lessons for these but I guided the lesson-writing, designing the curriculum and ensuring that the level of the dialogs and vocabulary is appropriate, that they don't introduce too many new words per lesson, that all new words appear in the vocabulary list and so on. I also act as the "English native" co-host, providing a lot of the grammar explanations. If you have questions about these podcasts, I'll try to answer. busy to follow the forums) First of all: I've seen your personal website, I know you teach over myngle and now this. I trully admire you. So, a few questions are left: 1.what cefr level are the advanced courses approximately? The majority of advanced audio blogs are C1 in level, but some are B2 or C2. Sarah's audioblogs (season 3 and 4) are generally easier because she uses a chatty language talking about funny things that happened to her etc. in the context of introducing cultural differences. The audioblogs in season 1 and 2 are harder because they are written in a more educational/scientific style. Some of them use terminology e. g. about mining so those are definitely C2.
