Learning so many Hanja at once is making me nearly dizzy. It's a wonder I can learn so many of them. I wish I could learn German words as quickly as I learn Hanja. :(

Yesterday was recuperation. I found out that I made it onto the Seoul National University's callback list for interviews. Now the fact that I have an interview in two weeks has finally kicked into my main nervous system and I'm starting to panic.

Today's Hanja:

案 (考案), 養 (養育), 漁 (漁村), 億 (億萬長者), 熱 (熱心)
葉 (葉書), 要 (主要), 曜 (曜日), 浴 (日光浴), 雄 (英雄)
原 (原書), 願 (所願), 元 (元來), 院 (院長), 偉 (偉大)
因 (因果), 任 (任用), 材 (藥材), 財 (財産), 災 (天災地變)
爭 (競爭), 貯 (貯水池), 的 (目的), 赤 (赤外線), 典 (古典)
傳 (傳說), 展 (展示), 節 (時節), 切 (切開), 店 (飮食店)
停 (停止), 調 (强調), 操 (操心)

Phew.. now I need to go and recover from post-Hanja symptoms...

Is it like there is only one composition for one hanja? I mean, do they have only one reading each?

Usually yes. It's not like in Japanese where we have at least two readings for each character... :)

太極旗 refers to the national flag of Korea.. YAY! :)

When I look at these, I think that learning Hanja, or Kanji, or whatever...
is really a great thing to do for someone who really loves to learn languages.

And if you can show off even some hanja skill in Korea, people will think you are a genius...

by the way....

Do you learn these only by sight, or do you learn how to write them too?
