Thanks.

Yes, I know the best way to handle trolls is just to ignore them.

I was thinking I'd block comments on my YouTube channel and direct people to comment in a log on this forum.

I don't know how it would work, but I think it would keep trolling to a minimum, and I'd only have to worry about receiving trollish PMs.

If I can find a quiet place to record a video, I might do it when I get the chance.

I think you're worrying a little too much about trolling. People aren't just going to randomly pick on some new YouTube user with a couple hundred views. Trolls want attention, and unless you have a massive subscriber base or hundreds of thousands of views, you're not going to be able to offer that to them.

Besides, you don't have to just "ignore" them. You can simply block them. Takes about five seconds and they'll be blocked forever.

I more nervous about posting to an unmoderated forum than trolling.

I'd rather just not have to deal with trolls than blocking them.

How do you make videos like the latest ones Prof. Arguelles did, with just text on the screen and voice? I might do that if I knew how to do it, plus I want to put the text of the language I'm practicing and English subtitles so people will understand me, plus I get annoyed when people make videos and don't have the text and subtitles in the video.

Michael K., re. subtitles: I noticed that Benny has a recent post on this
http://www.fluentin3months.com/subtitles/ , and a couple
of the Commentors who responded to his post also suggested other sites for easier addition of captions/subtitles.

Please keep in mind that I myself haven't tried it, as I don't have any Youtube videos.

Thanks, songlines.

I don't have any experience making videos, so anything helps.

Thanks for opening this thread, and thanks to all those who posted their experiences. I
recently opened a channel too, but I
didn't dare to post any videos because I don't feel comfortable showing my face to the
world. It's not about being fat or ugly, or whatever. It's just that is wouldn't be about
languages, but on how someone looks like.
I will keep Splog's advice in mind; maybe I will post my first video soon.
