Just beware of internet writing, websites like Yahoo Answers (they tend to write stuff like "concerteza/conserteza..." instead of "com certeza" (that makes my eyes bleed)

Also avoid watching movies like City of God (well, don't try to imitate those guys)

Here is an interview with Brazil's richest man, the interviewer is a very intelligent man, poet and stuff (their speech is pretty popular in my opinion, they speak just like we mention above):

Well, I wouldn't say "avoid" because it's a great movie. Just don't try to imitate them and you'll be good.

I'm also studying Brazilian Portuguese. I just ordered Brasil: Lingua e Cultura
from textbooks.com. I heard it was a good textbook to learn the basics from. I also have
Pimsleur and FSI to help me with my pronunciation.

I am just finishing up all three levels of Brazilian Portuguese(1-3; will be selling) and thinking about trying Pimsleur next. Instead of beginning all over again learning the basics through a different program, does someone have advice on a course that I can start from an advanced beginner/intermediate level? Also are there any Brazilian Native speakers that would want to do a language exchange for English?

Best to all!

I found hundreds of Brazilians who were willing to help me on livemocha.com. You'll be
amazed at how enthusiastic they are to teach you their language. (:

When you get a good knowledge about the language, be careful with some TV shows and, principally, videos or blogs on the internet. Even people who have a good education make mistakes that are not good for students, mainly on the writing.

Anyone have the Pimsleur comprehensive course for Brazilian Portuguese that they'd want to sell. I'm also looking for any good books; dvd's,etc. Thanks!
