Hey, guys!

I'm writing my BA thesis this year (on something related to le langage SMS) and I'd
need as many genuine text messages for it as possible! I appreciate any and all
contributions so if you're a native French speaker and feel like you could share some
text messages with me (and potentially ask friends' permission to do same with text
messages you received from them), please contact me with your text messages by sending
me a private message here or by e-mailing them to kenny.hosszupuska@gmail.com. Please
understand that what I need is not lessons on what the SMS language is like with
examples found on the web. I'm already fairly well acquainted with it. I need actual
real life text messages to compile a corpus.

Thank you. :)

Here are a few off my phone. I have not corrected any spelling or grammar.

« Tu restes a l'uni jusqu'a quelle heure ajd? »

« Je vais t'envoyer mon texte samedi soir ou dimanche matin. Ok? »

« Tu mas meme pas dit salut »

« On va au scores si jamais tu vx venir! » (Scores is a local restaurant.)

« Non, jrevise encore... ya trop de trucs que je sais pas par coeur. »

« Okay mais on va manquer de chaise... Jvais essayer den trouver »

« Ya dautre monde qui viennent? »

These are all from three different texters. They're all law students in a French-
language law faculty in Quebec. One of them is not a native speaker but is very fluent
in French. The other two are native French speakers. Two are women, one is a guy.
They're all under thirty.

You will notice a lot of missing accents and apostrophes. That's just how people try to
save time, I guess. You will often see spelling or grammar errors, though these ones
aren't too bad.

In texting, good spelling and grammar is generally the exception, not the rule.
