This is my first log and the very first post on this time.
I've been using this site for quite some time now, but just as a silent reader. I was beating around the bush about writing here, but in the end I decided it might provide me with some additional stimulus, since I'll have to regularly update my log.
Anyway, my target language at the moment is German. I've been studying it for approximately two years and I can read and write texts up to B1 level. But when it comes to speaking, I can manage only a few words, let alone a sentence.
My goal: to reach B1 in speaking by the end of this year, since I'll have a chance to study in Germany starting from April next year.
My learning plan consists of:
a. Things I have to do as my home task at the university
1. An adapted book "Das doppelte Lotchen" - 1 chapter a week
2. Reading and retelling news articles
3. Jojo sucht das Glück series
4. Delfin course book
b. Things I'm doing on my own
1. Slow German podcast
2. Various adapted audio books
3. Italki - two hour-long sessions a week
4. Pimsleur (I'm really not keen on using this, but that's probably just my laziness showing)
5. Flashcards for all the new words
And that's probably it. I'm also thinking of watching some cartoons in German, but that depends on whether I'll have some spare time or not.
