Nope, as I explained in my long-ass post before, this isn't how it goes. Arabic doesn't only write consonants in the first place, geez...

Reviving an old thread to say it isn't that hard if you don't use half-measures and crutches and start with unvowelled texts. I've got 3 months of Arabic under my belt and the missing short vowels don't scare me, the lack of good online dictionaries does!
