I'll join others in seconding the idea of combining language learning with exercise.

Going to the gym is mindnumbingly boring and whether it's weightlifting or treadmill it
doesn't require even an iota of attention (except maybe to check people out).
Language learning, especially initial phases of audio learning, are fun for the brain, but
induce a feeling of restlessness.
Two birds...

The only downside that I see, at least in my experience, is that if I cut one, I end up
cutting the other as well. And this goes both ways.

Hmm, I have to disagree. When I lift weights, I need to focus solely on that: It requires (for me at least) as much
mental as physical attention to make certain I am putting full effort into it and getting the most out of it. Likewise
with language studying: I need to apply my mind completely to that.

That's not to say, however, that I don't enjoy practising or revising what I've learned during an easy afternoon stroll
-- which can also be a good time to listen to audio materials!
