Milestone: Passed 300 known words on LingQ (302 currently)
300th was 外语, /wàiyǔ/ - foreign language I've completed NPCR lesson 11 dialogue and have started lesson 13, also still working on 12. I'll be finished with book 1 quite soon. I have 75 words now in my Goldlist, 3 sets of 25. I'm enjoying the ritual of the process and the simplicity. Finished studying the dialogues from NPCR Textbook 1 at the end of April, according to plan. I've taken it easy the last couple of days, no serious study but some flash cards and lesson prep for NPCR Textbook 2. This week I'll begin with NPCR 2, with the goal of finishing it in 2 months.

Milestone: I passed 500 'known words' on LingQ yesterday.
It's been some time since my last post, I dropped NPCR, book 2 was too much effort. Using the LingQ android app every day on the commute, it's easy because the time is built-in to my schedule. Outside of this I prepare new lessons on the LingQ site, and do whatever other Mandarin language activities hold my interest in my scant free time otherwise. Watched some Growing Up With Chinese videos from CCTV most recently. I'm also idle all day every day on #mandarin on freenode IRC With the vocabulary I have now it's easier to find appropriate level lessons on LingQ, which eliminates the need to prepare my own lessons. I'm trying to add at least one new lesson daily and expire one or more at the same time. It seems to be working, my pace of improvement has increased (at least my perceived pace of improvement...) 1 person has voted this message useful |
