?Cómo es que se te ocurrió venir a españa?

I think I get the gist of this.. "How is it that it occurred to you to come to Spain?" Or perhaps.. "How did it
occur that you came to Spain" like.. "How did it come about" or "how did you end up coming to Spain?"

The first sentence you wrote would be the proper translation. I can understand why you're struggling with "se" as
it is used in variety of constructions (reflexive, passive, etc.) In this case it is necessary because the verb used is
reflexive, "ocurrirse".

Quote:
"en españa se bebe mucho vino"

This is an example of it used in passive construction.

On another point, I ran into "?queria que nos contases?" I understand what It means and I found out that
contases is a subjunctive of "contar" or at least I think it is, however I couldn't find "contases" anywhere in the
subjunctive section of the verb contar?

Contases is a subjunctive like you said (Subjuntivo imperfecto). However, a more used form is contaras. They are
both correct and mean the same thing.

There still are lots of things I don't "get" tbh, like "me quedé" I tried to learn what that meant but nothing
really made sense, I'm hoping it'll become clearer as I read more and more and I get it from context. Grammer
explanations just go over my head haha.

Maybe it didn't make sense if you searched for the verb quedar and not it's reflexive form quedarse, which
usually means "to stay". Hope I could help you at least a bit :)

Ahhh, yeah thanks man! I didn't look up the reflexive in either case. "Me quedé" suddenly makes a lot more
sense!

The actual passage was "lo impresionada que me quedé" which I now believe means something like (in a
non literal way).. "It that had the most lasting impression on me." Or "the thing that impressed me most and
stayed with me." Thanks a lot, I can't tell you how stumped I was with that haha.

As stupid as it sounds I forgot that some verbs are used reflexively, I only learnt what a reflexive verb was a
few months ago and I guess I haven't thought about it for a while, even though I keep reading and
understanding other reflexsive verbs without realising they're reflexsive I guess. I'm relying on more of a
natural acquisition than grammer based, as I'm a complete grammerphobe haha.

Thanks again, it's like everything is actually really simple to see but it's like I'm walking around in the dark
feeling my way around to get to the light switch, once flicked, it all becomes clear and obvious. I'm sure that's
how it goes for the most part with learning languages. Lots of little light switches along the way, where a cat
might wonder why it is you can't just see like they can in the dark, someone who knows the language might
feel the same way, that's how it feels to me, you constantly feel dumb, then you flick another switch, you see
a bit more, but you feel even more stupid for not seeing it sooner haha. I hope that's how it works anyway.
