I'm just reading 'Your Memory' by K Higbee and on page 143 he talks about
a man called Jacques Romano who would learn 125 basic words in a new
lanugage and then he goes on to say 'He.... built interlocking chains of new
words by linking them to the 125 basic words and increased his vocabulary
until he became fluent in the language'. It doesn't say how many but 'many'
is quoted in the book.
Does anyone know anymore about his method?

Don't know if this will be of any help, but if you google word web there are many samples. I found your posting because I also just finished Higbee's book and wanted to know more. Also, if you check Tony Buzans' books on mind mapping, it will give more info on webs. As to Romano's exact method, I still haven't found anything.
