That's an option.
Though it's possible that giving people the option to select more than one language would be a good option. Also, giving an option to select "other" might alert you that there is a need for other languages to be added.
I'm not sure how much effort it would require to add such a feature.
You seem to be doing a good job at it so far, perhaps give it a go and take feedback from there.

Maybe it would be a good idea to be able to cross out some words when quoting another person's log. That would make writing corrections a LOT easier .

As for the logs, I personally like to see what languages the logs are about so that it gives me a good indication as to whether I want to follow a particular log (although using the log title seems to be as good a way as any - if the owner of the log wanted to do this of course).
I would also like to just be able to 'highlight' any logs that I particularly like to follow. What I mean by this, is to be able to select a log in this forum as one of my favourites, and from then on, it is highlighted in some way. Perhaps displayed in bold, different colour, prominent circle in the left/right margin etc.
The reason I would like this is so that I can easily keep track of some of my favourite logs :0) |

For the language I could make it appear in some other way, but many people keep multi-language learning logs, so that wouldn't help.
As for the watched threads I'll figure out a way to do this.

Little icons perhaps? You'd have to give people an arbitrary number of combo boxes or something to choose all the languages on show in that thread.

I don't quite know how this would work exactly, but some sort of progress tracking in hours or skills would be useful. I like the count down aspect of FuroraCeltica's log.

OK gentlemen, it sounds clear that people prefer to have one journal with all their languages. I will take the language/entry type tagging on a message-by-message basis. You can see a first version. Basically if a user like Iversen has an 800 message long journal, all he needs is to make one message for each language he has studied on that day instead of putting them all in one box, then the forum will make a little table on top to sum up how many entries for each language/entry type there are. I will see how we can drill down by clicking those links.
Let me know how I can improve this. Thanks!
