I'd also like to temporarily prevent other people from posting in my log. That way, it's neater.
It really depends on the person.

It's no you, even though you didn't help. Logs are supposed to be written by the person who is learning the language.
Off-topic comments are a bit annoying, especially when you keep getting new ones.
Moreover, I guess that some people who like to keep track of their reps or the amount of time they spent studying would like a cleaner presentation.
I'm speaking on behalf of the community here. I'm pretty sure that at least a few more people would like a cleaner log, since someone has mentioned this before.

If you can't be bothered to read your followers' comments, why would they bother reading your log?

Whilst I can see that this might be desirable, this little corner of the Internet is not a personal blog (plenty of those out there) but a forum. Whilst it might be an idea to include an option to turn off replies if the log starter so wishes, I think that would go against the whole point of a forum.

I don't care whether people read my log or not. I don't get paid each time someone reads my topics.
Patuco, I agree with you and I can understand how implementing this feature would go against the "spirit" of the forum.

...then why do you write a public log?

I like the microtags. I've started incorporating a second language into my studies, and have been able to microtag it, but is there any way to add to the main tag?
