Hi everyone!
I've been reading a lot of the posts here in the forum, and I discovered that flashcards do work. I decided to use Anki for that because it seems to be really good (from what I've read). I have one question though... Which direction do I set the flashcards up? Esperanto to English, or English to Esperanto? I'm confused. I'm thinking English to Esperanto makes more sense, but I'd like to get your feedback. Thanks! 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Why not both? One of Anki's many features is that you can enter the data once and have the questions in both
directions. So you enter the data in the question and answer fields and then choose the card to be shown in both directions (top right corner where you enter the data). 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I see. I thought I had to do it one way first before I could mix it up! What I did was L2 to L1 first (did I use L1 and L2
right? LOL). It was helpful that I had to say the Esperanto words instead of the English ones. Anyway, I'll keep that in mind. Anki is still a little tricky for me, but definitely accessible. Thanks, Juman! 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I start with recognition (target->native, L2->L1) and add the production set after some time (it can be done in half a minute). Both sets are useful since you probably want to understand what you hear/see, and to be able to say/write it yourself).
