Try to say this: "Řehoři, řekni "řeřicha". Neřeknu, ty křupane, ty by ses mi řehtal!" :-D

Someone else who's learning Czech. I'm thrilled. I've also got the TY textbook but don't use it at the moment. However, I'm likely to work with it once I've finished my Langenscheidt textbook. I found the first chapters of TY a bit too business-orientated. You could also try this link. It's for medical students at Prague university and I like the grammar exercises. I also printed the chapter about prepositions because I find it very helpful to have the full list and be able to check quickly which preposition requires which case whenever it's necessary. Well, it will be interesting to follow your log.

dobrý den!
I have been staring my "Czech an Essential Grammar" book. I love the soft consonants this language has, not to mention the háček, lots of them :D
č, ď, ň, ř, ť, ž, c, j
and the tongue twister Strč prst skrz krk, ahahaha
i also learn some basic phrases using "The Rough Guide Czech Phrasebook"
díky, děkuji, děkuji mockrát
ano, ne
jak se máte? děkuji, dobře, a vy?
I am going to memorize the basic phrases and also im trying to understand its grammar
:D
