it's a contraction, colloquial speech, but not necessarily dialectal
the full form is: Wo bist denn du? it's rather northern than southern (at least I wouldn't pronounce it like that), but I think you can hear it in a lot of places edit: you can actually here it also in the South, but with different forms like "Wo bist'n du?" or "Wo bischt'n du?" "denn" gets contracted pretty often in colloquial speech. You might hear for example "Wer

It's North Western for sure. I have heard that and similar in Cologne.
