I've been studying Spanish off and on for a few years. I don't currently have the time
to study everyday because I'm really busy. Right now I have a decent and effective
little plan goes as follows:
1- I'm reading Margarita Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish/See It & Say It In Spanish.
2- I'm reading the Reina Valera Santa Biblia 1960 Bilingual Edicion.
3- I'm listening to the Spanish New Testament on my Ipod. I listen to each chapter at
least 5 times and read aloud at least once and read silently a couple of times. The
recordings have classical music quietly playing in the background and is rarely
distracting. This has really helped me develop "an ear" for the Bible and has doubled
my comprehension in a about a month of use when I attend the Spanish ministry at my
church.
What I'm looking for to supplement my Spanish regiment is an audio book I can download
to my Ipod. I'm looking for something with a broad use of vocabulary and I'd also like
to purchase a copy of the book also. The New Testament on mp3 is excellent but I'd
like to broaden my comprehension beyond New Testament language.

Just google a particular book that you know well in English. For me that was Chronicles of Narnia. There will
almost certainly be Spanish audiobooks for whatever particular book you had in mind (Moby Dick included).

You can also go to Librivox.org Spanishfor Spanish free/legal public domain audio books with e-text. I'd recommend Cuentos de hadas Grimm to start. Another good site is ivoox.com auidokiosko audiolibros you need a free account to download El cartero de Neruda by Antonio Skármeta is a good choice to start. It has all the chapters. You can find the printed text at amazon or ebay or searching.
