Anki deck / Vocab database for Reading? | ||

Hey guys! I am having an interesting time with Harry Potter in German.
I am about 75 percent through the Langenscheidt Basic Vocabulary course and I would say I probably have a vocabulary over over 4,000 words. But there just seems to be so much that I'm missing. Is there any pre-made Vokipedia or Anki decks to help with general comprehension (whether it's reading or just in general)? I found one on Anki, but it was confusing. I don't really have the time to be adding words I don't know in a book to Anki or Vokabeltrainer. And what's more, the Basic Vocabulary has a lot of technical terms for computers or business (which doesn't come up much in books). Go to the German Language site at about.com, specifically to the "Using the German Harry
Potter Books to Learn German" pages. I cannot link to it for you, but I'm sure you're savvy enough to make your way to it yourself. There you will find chapter-specific glossaries and the like. I heartily recommend that you eventually listen to the audiobook. It is an aural treat. The fantastic narrator (Rufus Beck) really brings the characters to life! 2 persons have voted this message useful | |
