So, I tried Busuu.com recently, and one of the website's features is chatting with native speakers. The chat function seemed to have more functionality than LiveMocha, but unfortunately, it seems that using the chat puts you at risk for a Spyware infection. I clicked on someone's profile to chat with them, but they didn't respond. Instead Total Security began infecting my computer. If you've never heard of Total Security, it's bad. It's basically one of those fake anti-spyware programs. It claims that you need to pay them money to remove the spyware from your system, but they're just trying to get your credit card number so they can steal from you. It disables Task Manager, Firefox, Word, Winamp, Add/Remove Programs, and just about any anti-spyware program you can think of. So, that makes it a real pain to get rid of.
Beware of going into chats. It might seem fun to chat with native speakers to improve your speaking skills, but it can really cost you. 1 person has voted this message useful |
