I find colour contrast useful in learning - I feel I remember better if there are different colours of ink or pencil, rather than everything being black or blue on white paper. Red is useful for contrast.

I read an article in Ny Teknik (Swedish technical magazine) the other day about a new Swedish invention that customises different colored light for different plants to affect their growth. Apparently, changing the color of the light can make a plant grow denser leaves, make the spicy flavor stronger and even accelerate or retard their growth rate. This plant growing company spent millions replacing their lights, and economics don't lie. Color really can have a real influence on organisms.
