Can't recommend NPCR enough (there is now a 6th textbooks as well). They're a totally updated version of the old PCR textbooks and the new characters are the children of the characters from PCR. There's a storyline that the books follow for volumes 1-4. I'm pretty sure the first 4 books all have two dialogs per lesson and there are 50 lessons, which would make a total of 100 dialogs of increasing length and difficulty. After the dialogs in each lesson there are various types of drills. Volumes 5 and 6 contain unrelated, but interesting stories about Chinese culture, there's even one about Dashan. There are 70 lessons altogether.
The dialogs become increasingly longer and they're always read on the CD once quickly, and repeated again more quickly, then on the DVD they're read again at native speed (even quicker!) by professional actors (they even took the pains of dubbing the actors' voices from in-studio recordings so that the audio's crystal clear, but the is dubbing off a bit). The lessons eventually get pretty long. I know at least the first two textbooks are available for download on the internet (just got to search) so check one out and see if you like it. The DVDs available free to watch on youtube. I know they're available in Spanish as well and may be available in other languages if you prefer. 1 person has voted this message useful |
