French - 45 minutes active - 25 minutes in car while driving
Esperanto - 25 minutes active - 20 minutes in car while driving
Spanish - 10 minutes active - 10 minutes in car
English - 15 minutes a week shadowing in car
Other than English, those are rough numbers per day. Approximately 2.5 = 3 hours per day total, including time driving or while doing the dishes, making breakfast, etc.

The answer may be in another thread, but why are you shadowing your native language ?

The essays (Federalist Papers) are excellent and advanced and the voice is strong. That's not the only book that I will count in my English studies though.
By the way, my study time is split into literally dozens of segments per day. I believe that is more effective than sitting down and for 2-3 hours straight. I don't usually have the luxury of 2-3 of uninterrupted study time, but I don't think the "secret moments" method hurts me much, although it is not much like diligent study in school. It's more like the time you study what you really want in school, rather than your class work. :)
