Has he simply studied 58/59 languages and says that he speaks them all?

Silly mistake, I think.

Good on him for getting good in the ones he is good in though.

It depends. The blog post says that Ziad was tired and under a jet-lag and unprepared.

In my opinion, having said that you speak n languages, the reservation that you wouldn't necessarily speak all of the n languages whenever asked and under any emotional condition all of the time would in some cases be reasonable.

I can't agree with that.

I'm an insomniac and I can still understand English perfectly after not sleeping for 48 hours and being in a bad mood.

It's nothing but wishful thinking...

Ziad got caught out...

When sufficiently tired, I can misunderstand English more often than when wide awake, though I still usually get it right. For other languages, depending on how well I know them and how much I've dealt with them when tired, the situation is a big uglier.

What's the time-zone difference between Rio de Janeiro and Santiago?

Can't be more than a couple of hours.

Jet-lag? Come on.

Edit: there's only a one hour difference in time zones.

Guys, let's try not to make it another "Ziad Fazah bashing" thread.

The thing that sucks ,Jiwon, is that the people who support this guy offer bogus intellectual reasoning as to why he FAILED.

I have no dishonesty to be ashamed of. Ziad and the people who blindly support him do.

I don't support him either, but we already have a thread that's been closed because of too much Ziad bashing. If you can't help it, at least don't make it sound so blatant. There are ways to diss someone more subtly.
