Has anyone studied at the Goethe Institut before? I am planning to for 2 months and was wondering what I could expect. I know I must take a placement test when I arrie so I know where I will begin and apparently one can move up 3 levels from where they begin in 2 months, because it is an intensive language program, which I am so excited for!! I would think the exam would not just be oral but a combination of things but we will see...I was just wondering if anyone else has ever done this. If so, how did it go for you?

Hi, there!
By now you must have already finished your German course but still...
Yes, I have studied at Goethe Institut before. In Munich, last year. I took 2 courses, at B1 and B2. They are quite expensive, I must say! But this is the least of their problems... I really think they should choose their teachers much more carefully. The one teaching B2 was a total disaster!!! It was a woman called Karin Roth: stupid, always wasting half of the time with futile discussions harassing some of the pupils, incompetent, superficial and frustrated. Now I badly regret I didn't report her! So avoid her by all means! It is allowed to change courses and levels. Good luck!

Though I haven't taken a course at the Goethe Institute, I did
sit three exams with them at GI Sydney. They were some of
the nicest people I've met, and very thorough in their
organisation and examination. Just wanted to put a good
word out there for them.
