I am learning French and Russian and want to improve my writing. I've found a Russian pen pal and I am hoping they put up with my appalling grammar. I am finding it harder however to find people to exchange French with, I think this is due to that fact that individuals who are French have a better grounding in English. Could anyone advice me on sites where I can post pieces of writing (I am more interested in French at the moment as I have a Russian pen pal) and receive feedback. I am asking on the forum as I would like to find out which sites people have found give the best support.

I've had good luck with English/Spanish on ConversationExchange.com.

You can probably setup something similar to spell-check and grammar-check in MS-Word in other languages.
So far nobody has been able to come up with a spell-check for Chinese because they write in continuous
sentences with no breaks between words.

You could try Lang 8 and italki.

I'm seconding Glarus Girl's recommendation, I've always got good quality corrections on
italki and I heard lang8 is fine as well.
I recommend trying to look for forums in French and Russian, for example ones dedicated
to you hobbies or fandom or whatever else. You might as well try writing communities,
such as fan fiction, you might get lots of corrections especially on style. This kind of
corrections helped me immensely in past.
And, until you find such opportunities, I recommend reading your own writing a day or two
after having it finished. You might find most mistakes on your own, at least the mistakes
concerning things you've already learnt but need to practice further. It worked for me, I
wish I had kept to the exercise.

Lang8 is indeed a good resource, although with more popular languages like French you can sometimes run into the opposite problem, i.e. "too many" people willing to correct your writing, which often leaves with you very different and sometimes even contradictory sets of corrections. In that case a dedicated tutor could come in handy.

If you still want it, I am willing to help you with feedback, as long as you don't need
me to correct hundreds of pages :P
