Some of you may be familiar with Oscar E. Swan's textbook: Intermediate Polish. For the past year or so, I have been trying to locate the audio recordings that were prepared to accompany this text. While audio cassettes were once available for sale, the Publisher, Slavica Publishers, does not have them; they refered me to the author, Professor Swan, at Pittsburgh University. While the recordings were once freely available via the university's sound archives, Professor Swan no longer has them in any medium. It is possible that a fellow member might have downloaded the audio files from the Pittsburgh University's website at the time they were available or have purchased the cassettes back in the 1980's. If so, would you be willing to share them with me?

You could create a list of universities that have departments for Polish or Slavic studies, and then mail them one after the other. This is how I found the cassettes for another course I've been using. There was no record anywhere, but someone I talked to who worked at the institute knew that there was a shoebox with cassettes somewhere ...

This may not be the same book/audio, but I see that Ohio State University offers two sets of books for "Intermediate Polish" with audio that from the descriptions seem to be affiliated somehow with Swan.

Also, it appears that Intermediate Polish was initially published in Columbus, where OSU is located:

Whether this is the audio you're searching for, I can't tell, but it might be worth asking the folks at OSU.

Many thanks to the two of you for your suggestions and references.
Daristani,
Thank you. I have the rather poorly-named "Intermediate Polish" recordings and notes of the Ohio State University. These recordings, which are much more complete than the originals, were prepared by the university to accompany Beginning Polish, First Year Polish by Oscar Swan, 1983, second edition. Still, I had not thought of asking their staff -- who are quite helpful, I might add -- if they possessed the cassette tapes to Oscar E. Swan's book, Intermediate Polish. I'll send them an inquiry via Email.
Peter,
Thank you for your intervention aupres de'lUniversité Heidelberg. As there had been, until your reply, no response to my post, I had pretty well abandoned all hope of finding the recordings. However, in the light of encouragement, with renewed vigour, I will once again assail the language-learning community.
