Dialogues must be the focus of an Icelandic course because it's not

For who can read Italian: http://www.giuristipernaso.it/KENNSLUB.pdf ... A copyright-
free complete written book ... (nearly 700 pages :O ) I think it the best resource for
written Icelandic, but only for Italian readers :( |

I can highly recommend this resource. I don't speak any Italian but I've seen from a
brief skim some GREAT vocabulary lists, e.g.: phrases taking 'verb + við'; first names
and pet names; major world landmarks in Icelandic; names for those who live at
particular locations in Iceland; grammatical terms in Icelandic; and of course, most of
the book (!!) is made of 36 grammar lessons with tables and examples. Note that the
index seems a bit confused regarding pages.
A truly excellent resource. It'd cost me about 32 quid, or 16 if I zoomed out, to print
the entire book in the library. Tempted.

If Assimil ever makes an Icelandic course it might be more than just requests. I actually remembered reading a thread on another website how the Linguaphone Icelandic program came about. The poster wrote an old rich Icelandic man funded the course to be made, as to spread the language.
I did look for the website since then, but I have not been able to find it. Hopefully requests do help in getting the attention of the company and not wait for a rich person to show up.

http://www.giuristipernaso.it/ is no longer online. Any other locations on the web to
find that?
edit: I did find it at http://www.scribd.com/doc/131241591/KENNSLUB-pdf, but it's not
downloadable without paying them.

I just downloaded the "Corso di Islandese Moderno" at the above scribd.com site without having to pay anything.
In any event, I'd downloaded it once before when it was freely available, and so have uploaded it here for those interested. It does look like a great resource.

You're right... the download does work. Don't know what I did wrong the first time.
Thanks for the extra link as well.

I also asked Assimil for the Icelandic course.
I would suggest everyone do the same for the Pimsleur method :
http://www.pimsleur.com/request-new-language-program
Edit: I received a response from Assimil :
Bonjour,
Merci pour votre message.
Nous regrettons de vous informer que nous ne prévoyons pas de méthode d’islandais.
Nous restons à votre disposition,
Cordialement,

Well,
It is nice that Pimsleur is releasing an Icelandic comprehensive next month April/2016,
since there is still no Assimil Icelandic. At least Pimsleur had noticed the requests from
the forum members and I had to direct Icelandic associations about it also.
I just noticed a video on Youtube from the Polyglot gathering last year, a person who
I think works for Assimil Germany I guess, briefly stated they were interested in making a
German based Icelandic course. The problem is the people they know who can do the book, are
busy. Maybe the requests were helpful after all from forum members and all the Icelandic
Associations around the world. Maybe Assimil France let someone know who does something for
the German base Assimil. (Who knows?)
One of my posts in this thread, the German base I thought was best suited for the
Icelandic course. I guess everything takes time and all we can do is wait, but of course
don't rely on the Assimil Icelandic being released anytime soon. It would be great though.
I am going to attempt something again and if any more news comes about I will probably
post. Depending if I remember. Like one of my earlier post time and patience.

Well I contacted Assimil France. My question was if they again will be making the
Icelandic course and I stated if it will be like the "Sans Peine" series.
This was the response I received.
"Thank you for your interest in our courses.
This is to inform you that we are preparing a course to learn Icelandic but we do not
have any publication date at the present time.
We will send you a message as we market it.
Best regards.
Nathalie Froehly
Assimil - Service Particuliers"
It has been over 9 years since we started the petition. It seems like Assimil has
finally taken the course seriously. All this time though I have been learning other
languages of interest. I did contact the person in Assimil Germany before as well.
After contacting so many organizations and people. Maybe just maybe Assimil Icelandic
Without Effort is coming into reality. I already have the Pimsleur Icelandic which did
not take even half as long for Pimsleur to take seriously.
All we can do now is wait.
