This will be my progress log for TAC 2013.
Current Japanese Level A1-A2, JLPT N5 - N4.
I took the JLPT N5 in December found Grammar the most difficult and listening was harder than expected.
If I have passed the N5 then I will continue to the JLPT N4 in July if not then I will re sit N5.
I am going to focus more study time on grammar this year as this seem's to be my weakest area.
I seem to switch methods of study so have not finished books like Assimil and Remember the Kanji so this year I
am going to try and stick to a book to the end.

Reviewing the Kanji is very good for using together with Heisig's book. I've already finished RTK 1 this year, so my goal for 2013 will be to finish RTK 3.

I already use Reviewing the Kanji, but thank you for the suggestion. Good Luck with RTK3!

I'd go for "A dictionnary of Beginner Japanese Grammar" if I were you. I have to admit I
don't know the Donnatoki Dictionnary of Japanese Grammar, but the one I'm talking about
is a collection of 3 (huge) books that get you to literally know every bit of the
Japanese Grammar after the three. Well... I should get around it more personnaly but I've
only heard good reviews about each one.
Anyway Good luck with TAC 2013!

Good luck with your plans for the 2013 TAC! I'm looking forward to following your log and watching you progress.
Is the Donna Toki Dictionary you refer to this one? If so, it's probably my favourite grammar reference, although I have the older edition from before the JLPT syllabus change. I would recommend you use it as a reference though, rather than trying to work through it systematically to learn grammar - using Assimil and/or the Manga Way book will probably give you better and more systematic coverage of basic grammar and keep you saner for longer :)

That is the one, I if think I will read through Japanese the Manga Way and use Donna Toki as a reference. I do own a
Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar but I like the way Donna Toki is set out.
