Hello fellow Team 鶴 member!
I'm very jealous that you have the commitment to stick to just the one language. Oh, and I can't agree more about the difficulties of pronouncing tones correctly.
Best of luck for 2013!

Hi Teammate. Best of luck to you. How are you liking livemocha? I started that site, but
wasn't feeling it. I didn't spend much time on it.
Keep up the good work. Look forward to this year on the team with you!

Hi,
I don't like the courses... It feels like "computer generated" for me...
I just use it for writing/speaking excercises, for their quick and accurate feedback,
and the fact that they propose a list of subjects we can write/read about. For me it
makes it better than lang8.
I use it for chatting too. I can find chinese speakers there anytime I want and the
chat window plays a sound when someone tries to talk to me! This makes it much better
than sharedtalk ;)!
good luck for you!!

Hi,
That's my weekly update:
- I'm now at lesson 5 of FSI Module 6 (Transportation). So I kept my
objective of doing one comprehenson lesson a day. In the end of the day, the lessons
are not that complicated, I just have a couple of new words to learn everyday and I
keep struggling in a couple of points of the tape everyday, so I feel I'm progressing
slowly everyday.
- I've just read 5h this week, it is bad news, because I wanted to read more, but I
transport time is limited, and at some point I need to choose between doing the
comprehension tapes or simply reading. The good news is that now I can read a novel
chaper in something like 30min, whic is amazing! (6 months ago it was 1h!). I think I
read at least 7 chapters of two different books. My main problem is the people's
names... I feel it hard to associate them to the characters and to recognize them in
the text, I just need to try a better strategy for keeping track of that :)
- I didn't chat that much this week, which is also bad news :( I installed 微信 in my
tablet this week, just to try to find random people for chatting and I changed its
default language to chinese too! But I don't feel it helped a lot :(
- Finally, I didn't keep my objective of having chinese sites as the most accessed
ones in my browsed this week...

Hi,
That's my weekly update:
- I continued my FSI until the 7th lesson of the meeting module, but then I
decided to stop. I think I will be better of spending this time reading books to
improve my vocabulary or watching chinese movies with subtitles. - I could read
11h this week, which means I read more than 15 chapters in my book :) that's amazing!
I'm reading a chapter in <25min now. In order to help me with people's names, I always
keep a list of people's names in evernote when reading ;) It helps! - I didn't
chat a lot this week... but I feel I'm improving very fast in this skill :) Yesterday I
got my first douban and wechat friends :) - Finally, I didn't keep my objective
of having chinese sites as the most accessed ones in my browser this week, but I feel
I'm more and more independent of popup dictionaries to read :) that's good news!

I stay connected in twitter all the time seeing other people studying in real time,
that's a good incentive to do the same!!!
