Currently, I'm delivering speeches in Korean. However, I can't mustered up the time and
patience needed to translate myself but I do take the time to memorize them wholly. Does
anyone have any experience with this method?

No personal experience, but I remember reading, during (and after) Obama's first presidential campaign, about
students in some Japanese language schools listening to broadcasts of his speeches and using them as models.
There were a number of articles about the phenomenon.

among others from the BBC, Huffington Post, etc...

Edited to check: you do mean that you memorize speeches that other people have composed, yes? Or are
you referring to writing texts of your own? (That is, "conversational islands", little prepared talks on various
topics, as aids to conversational fluency? - "Fluency" in this case referring to fluid, non-halting exchanges of
dialogue between two or more speakers.)
