Umm.. mine used to be German! Really, never had any interest in it, always hated the sounds etc...

And then my husband wanted us to move to a German-speaking area! So off we went, and then I learnt, and the more nice people I knew who spoke German, the more I liked it!! So for me I think it's all about liking a person who speaks the language, that changes everything :) If you'd told me even 3 years ago that my German would be my second best language I would have fainted in shock and horror. But it happened and now it's not so bad o.O;;

At first I was going to say something like Mandarin or Japanese because I don't like the sound of them and I'm also not at all interested in the cultures...

..then I remembered those six years of Latin in high school. Brrrrr.

Esperanto, mostly because of how it sounds, and part of my motivation for learning languages is interesting and difficult grammar. IMO Vietnamese sounds awesome.

Esperanto or a language with only an oral component, my main goal in learning languages is to be able to read the literature in the original format. Esperanto consists mainly of translated works as far as I know.

Actually, Esperanto does have lots of original literature, and most of it isn't about Esperanto, which is pretty good. If it didn't use 90% Romance vocabulary (*may not be entirely accurate), then that would make it better for me, but the real problem in the sound is the way that it's commonly pronounced - if only it just changed its stress and tones so that it sounded calmer and not very crazy, instead of the "LERRRnu la INterNACiAn LINGvoooOOOOn" that I've heard from pretty much every Esperanto audio source, with that weird up-down tone. That's where the problem stands for me.

I think that the last language I would want to learn would be no language. All languages offer a unique look into the culture and psyche of the indigenous people which reflects their will and style to live in a said enviroment. So for me their would be no last language to learn.
