I was actually thinking Esperanto or Volapük, but hadn't considered Klingon or other 'fantasy' languages. I knew
some girls in college who spoke one of the Elvish languages from Lord of the Rings, and it struck me as
particularly odd at the time that you'd learn an artificial fantasy language and not a natural language. But then, a
good reason to learn a language is because you enjoy the culture of those who speak it. So, I suppose it makes
perfect sense. But not for me.

I could see myself dabbling with Elvish, but never learning it fully.

And if I had a choice, I wouldn't touch any of the romance languages. The only reason I'm learning it currently is because I have prior experience with it, and I need to take it at school because I don't have any good options other than that. Anyway, because of my experiences with it, I really don't like Spanish, and my opinion of the other Romance languages is similar. Still, I'm at such a level with it just through school that I would be able to take myself to a fairly advanced level without too much effort, so I'm not ruling it out. Other than that, I'd be interested in learning pretty much every language. If I had infinite time, I would. Including the romance languages.

Latin.

For such a great language, it would be horrible to learn it and have absolutely no use for it, at least with regards to speaking/writing. Of course it would help with learning the Romance languages but I would want to use the language itself and not just use it as a starting point.

Klingon, Elvish, or any other language with few female speakers; and that I couldn't
mention knowing on a date. I have enough problems:)

I also have little interest in small regional languages; or languages spoken primarily in
primitive or remote areas.

The language I would least want to learn would probably have to be Korean. I've tried, but not only is the culture not interesting to me, but the language is freakin' hard!
Other than that, I'd probably ignore some of the 'smaller' (they all have lots of speakers) Indian languages, such as Kannada and Telugu, out of necessity. They're actually facinating to me, but I'm worried about the lack of good materials.
This is a bit counter-productive, but I actually enjoy the smaller, less studied languages, so Lithuanian, Irish Gaelic and San are all things I would study.

You might be surprised. You would find yourself recognizing Latin words all over the
place. I think some Catholic services still use it; but I don't know much about that.
I think it has the most value for pre-college; pre-law; and pre-med students; or if you
really like classic texts. It helps with English grammar as well. I wish I had
learned it as a teenager, but I'm not motivated to learn it now.
