Like another user stated here, I'd like to study every natural language (yes, even
Kusunda). But if we want to talk about ones that are very low on the priority list,
I'll have to say Italian and German. I will give them the credit of having some lovely
opera (especially the Germans), but they feel too familiar for me. Still, it's possible
I'll change my mind one day in the future. Once I get a good grasp on Swedish, why not
sample another Germanic language? And my knowledge of French and Spanish would be quite
useful for Italian (and then I could learn Portuguese and then Romanian and bam, we've
got the major Romance languages).
Artificial languages, especially artificial languages that don't have some novel
grammatical feature, don't really interest me. If the artificial language doesn't have
a gimmick from the phonetic or grammatical standpoint, I really don't see a reason to
study one. The lack of literature and music in the language would be discouraging as
well.

Esperanto. Not becuase I dislike the language per say, I'm more than curious in it's grammar, vocab, etc (never really dug into it). I just can't get started with artificial languages.
A huge part of the reason of me learning languages is discovering the culture, the history, the quiddities of those who speak it. No disrespect, but in those categories any constructed language just comes up short. Almost as if they are missing a "soul".
Sounds stupid, and perhaps mentioned in this thread long ago, just my opinion.

I agree. I do not think it will ever become a real, spoken language, and therefore, it does not interest me at all. I want to be able to communicate with L1 speakers on such a level that my non-nativeness is not obvious. Only then will I really be satisfied with my knowledge of a language. This is impossible with Esperanto and other artificial languages. Also: one aspect of language that I like is culture - without culture, there can not really be a language because culture determines which words people use, their grammar rules, and sometimes even their accent.
Furthermore, I have no desire to learn any non-Germanic and non-Romance languages at the moment. Just a personal preference. I always say "I like Germanic languages and French" ^^. I might add Spanish and Italian to the list one day.

I'd go with arabic. I've heard it on a common basis (living in Paris) since I was born,
but never liked the way it sounds nor does the culture attracts me.
However, I used to think Mandarin sounded horrible and that the culture was not that
interesting and I found myself liking it without any warning and am now loving studying it
and the culture that goes with it. So we never know, I might end up studying Arabic too :p

For me it would have to be French.
I had a bad experience with it in school.
And when I was 7 I learned some phrases before a trip to France,
but when I got there no one would listen to me.
The made out like they couldn't understand my accent (possible, but I don't think I was
that bad).
And I'm not to keen on how it sounds.

I'm not really keen on french now. I'm also worried french people might be rude to me
like they were to you. Plus, some of the learners of french were horrible to me. A
belgium person on busuu were mean to me and even a person who spoke french said I can't
speak french. It gives me bad memories. I have a good friend who is from belgium and
spoke french. I learnt french only for him. But from what I have experienced, I might
drop french because I don't feel motivated and plus I don't want to meet more people
who like to degrade me. I feel like giving french up now. It's boring me to death. :P

Mandarin. Because of those characters and the tones.
After that, I would probably baulk at Arabic, Finnish, Baltic languages...

Arabic.
No interest in the cultures it is spoken in, as well as the fact that you have to learn
one regional dialect in order to not some übeformal.
And any dead languages - Esperanto is actually a cool idea in my opinion. Another idea
would be to make a large spelling reform in Englsih..
