Anyone know of Arabic audiobooks? Any dialect, MSA, I don't care.

Is the bible recorded in Arabic?

Thankyou! This is just the sort of thing I was looking for.

Now I just need to figure out how to download these files.

Also I need to find this written out in Arabic.

If you grew up reading the Bible and going to church like I did this seems like a great way to learn Arabic. Listening to the New Testament seems helpful anyway. I can't understand the Old Testament even in English so that wouldn't be much help to me. I'm trying to learn the dialects better and not improve my MSA right now, but going through the Bible in Arabic seems like a good way to improve MSA if I ever decide I want to. I even learned something new listening to the first 2 chapters of Matthew. Myrrh is مر in Arabic. Same pronunciation. I guess English took the word from some Semitic language.

What are you using to study dialects? Which dialects are you studying?

Well I basically just watch TV shows and songs since there aren't courses that you can buy that teach dialects to any advanced or even intermediate level as far as I know. When I want to know a word or phrase I'll either ask in Egypt or Lebanon Yahoo Answers or ask at this forum: http://forum.wordreference.com/ forumdisplay.php?f=41. It takes longer since you have to wait for replies, but it's really the only way I've found short of hiring a native tutor to sit and watch TV shows with me lol. The wordreference forum doesn't let you post external links so unless you know how to spell the word or phrase you're hearing you have to resort to a place like Yahoo Answers where you can post a link and ask people to listen to what your question is about. Without being able to go to an Arabic country learning a dialect is really tough. There's nothing to spoon feed it to you.
