Has anyone tried the Assimil E-Learning program? I am still struggling with how to best
utilize Assimil given my time constraints. I have previously posted about adding English prompts to the Assimil audio. I still like that idea, but quickly found that I did not have time to do all of the necessary cutting and splicing of audio. Assimil E-Learning looks like another way of further absorbing the Assimil material, but I am curious if anyone has experience with it. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. Not yet, but I'll probably try it for Portuguese soon and maybe next year for Russian (with French base). I'll keep you updated. Since they're quite affordable, I guess there is not much to loose. I'd be curious to hear about others experiences as well.

Can someone briefly explain the method? I'm always curious about e-methods. I don't like books.

You can use Audacity to do the cutting and splicing automatically using the silence between sentences. Also you add English prompts to each Assimil sentences automatically using ALS. Not many people know about this great program. 3 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Looking at the demo, it's basically an online version of their book (with a different script though). The only advantage seems to be the possibility to play each sentence individually and to record and compare himself to the original. The main drawback is that you need a web connection (and a device able to run flash), and that's the fee is yearly .

I did a search and I actually think that he is talking about Audio Lesson Studio. See the previous post from Hashimi: http://how-to-learn-any- language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15755&KW=learn I am not a computer programmer and a little intimidated by the Audio Lesson Studio.
