I'm by no means a Luddite but I'm sometimes a little slow to embrace new technologies.
I recently acquired my first iPad and highly recommend it as a useful tool.
With the iBooks app you can store PDFs of FSI straight from the FSI.org site and, of course, have the
audio in iTunes, for a convenient little package of materials.
Ultimately, I prefer a little iPod and a piece of folded up paper I can pull from my back pocket, but for the
convenience of having your whole library in one easy to use device, I would recommend the iPad.

I am in no way connected to any company involved with said device, except as a consumer.

I'd go with a small laptop -- there are more learning apps for the laptop, and you can do writing practice on the keyboard....

Well, obviously a small laptop is going to be more functional than an iPad, just as a full-scale computer is going to be more functional than a small laptop.

Thanks for enlightening me with your usual positive input Cainntear.

Perhaps I should have mentioned you can load Michel Thomas programs onto the device. Maybe then you'd
find it more agreeable.
