I used to try to make one sentence per each new word I learn, but now I found a better
way.
Use TWO random new words to make a sentence. Just mix up your flashcards, randomly select
a pair, and make a sentence. I think this helps me retain the word better because it 1.)
forces you to really think about how your using the word and 2.) it forces you to be
creative.
Please try it, and let me know if you think it's a better way to learn vocab.

Especially if the words' combination is a bit strange or comical - the effect may make it even easier to remember, a well-known mnemonic trick. So, this sounds like a very good idea, except maybe for one part. Are you making your own sentences? That's a bit risky, since you can accidentally use the words in a way that'll sound awkward or maybe even completely wrong to a native speaker.

Yes I'm making my own sentences, but I submit them on Busuu.com to get corrected.
