Also, it might be very difficult with reading. My absolute fastest reading speed, on really easy books, is about 5 minutes per page. If I can read that fast and choose only books with 101 pages, I will still have to read nearly 1.5 hours a day. If the books are somewhat harder, or longer, I could easily come up to 6 hours of reading pr day.
don't forget your skills are going to improve during the challenge:)

It's certainly allowed to use one log for several challenges.

I suggest requiring 100 books averaging 100 pages or more which would still provide at least 10,000 pages. Thus
if you take the time to read a long book, it will still just count as one book but it will boost your average allowing
you to read a few short books and count them as well.

I've decided to track progress on a blog here - partly because I wanted to mess with WordPress and partly just so I have a record of what I'm doing. Am also happy to go with any group tracking people come up with.

Really looking forward to this - it'll be difficult I'm sure, but the results should be more than worth the effort.

I had been wondering whether a blog format might be a more appropriate way to track my progress than my language log here, and your post has convinced me! I have wasted most of my Saturday setting up this. Now I have no excuses!

OK. You've convinced me, everybody. I will try for the full-challenge. If I don't make it, I will still have learned a lot. Now I just have to find some more movies. I only have thirteen and it would drive me crazy to watch them over and over, especially since I've already watched several of them over and over. I also just realized that all the Harry Potter books count as two books, except the first one which doesn't quite make it.

Edit: My fingers are dyslexic. The letters always come out in the wrong order.

I'm in for Swedish. Should be interesting, as I just started learning it 2 days ago on my
birthday. Let's see if I can finish by my second birthday from now!

I think I'll join with Spanish. I am moving in the beginning of May and have all my exams then, so I will have a slow start, but I guess I'll catch up with you in my superlong summer vacation.

I whipped this up before I went to bed last night.

I plan to use it to log all french language learning, not just the super challlenge. I've even tried to use french in it so
i can track my improvement!
