There is no catch! The end goal is to read 50 books and watch 50 movies (for the half challenge), but the real point I'd say, is the progress that you make in just trying to complete the challenge. I think that's the real value of this challenge, and is what Solfrid Cristin had in mind when she came up with this (awesome) idea :D |

Sounds good enough for me! :)

Welcome and good luck!
If you get bored you can always upgrade to the full challenge. ;)
The details of the challenge on the first page (e.g., Manga/Graphic novel pages count as 1/5 pages; books need 100 pages; more than 200 pages count as two books and so on). Sounds like you'll have plenty to do on the commute from now on. :)

This part is up to you:) You're not required to show any notes/word lists/whatever :) Just list what you've read/watched/listened to:) You can include everything you did in May, June and July if you remember it clearly enough.

Randomly wondering... I don't mean this in a bad way, not at all: apart from a lack of time, what are the most common reasons for doing a half challenge rather than a super one?
-lack of resources
-starting from scratch
-being B2 at either reading or listening
-needing to work on one skill in particular
-not *wanting* to read so many books/watch so many movies
-to do various types of the challenge?:D
all of these apply to me, except starting from scratch...as of now :D
My German is especially weird.... In all other cases, I don't want to read 100 or even 50 books. In German, I don't want to watch 100 movies O___o

For me it's just a lack of time and a fear of going into the deep end too fast. Plus, I joined late.

I want to taste German before committing to anything bigger. I have no idea from where I am starting; surely
not from scratch but possibly not far from that. What is left of my ages old school German is yet to be seen.
I am actually pretty exited, what if I really grow to like the language while reading? I'll begin reviving the
remains and hopefully reading sometimes in September.
