I recently started using Assimil in various languages, namely French, Spanish, Russian
and Dutch (not at the same time, of course). Being a student, I didn't have the money to
purchase the whole package, so I went with the books for the time being. I thought they'd
be enough to get a solid grasp of the languages, but I find that my listening skills are
horrible. Does anyone know of a site or somesuch where the mp3 files can be purchased for
a reduced price? Or would someone perhaps be willing to part with their mp3s for a small
price? Appreciate the responses in advance!

Have you considered the idea of borrowing them from a local library? I did so for the Assimil's German course.

We're not supposed to promote illegal downloading, but if you're considering to pay someone to share their mp3s (which is illegal), then you might as well get those mp3s for free... google is your friend.

It isn't only if the owner sells or gives the originals and doesn't keep a copy of those CDs otherwise it's called sharing (paid for or not) and this is illegal.:)

Hey Assimil!
That's right; you, Assimil!

Since you are starting to offer your materials on mp3 which essentially costs you nothing in overhead or
materials... why don't you come down on your price point a bit?

I know most people would be more likely to pay $39.95 for a book/mp3 course than pay $89.99 - $199.95 ( the
quoted prices I found on Amazon for the CD/book combos).   I think that by keeping your prices this inflated you
are encouraging pirating of your courses. Sorry Assimil, but gone are the days where you can expect to charge
$200 bucks for a book/4CD course. I know that I, personally would purchase more of your courses (probably
most of them actually...) if you came down to the $40 range for the book/mp3 combo!

OK, I'll step down off my soapbox now ....
